Why Designwaves LLC

Amazing to say I have been doing all forms of interior design since 1996. I have always loved being creative, why such a diverse design background. My design accomplishments first started when I studied horticulture and floral design. I had placed 1st in the state floriculture competition held at Michigan State University. From there was further studying with a team to compete at Nationals. We placed 7th in the nation at the National FFA Convention. At this time I worked as a fresh floral designer doing all types of floral designs for all occasions including extravagant weddings and displays throughout the shop. From there my position went to designing custom silk floral arrangements while designing entire showrooms. Then their was managing, designing and purchasing for entire showrooms all seasons of the year. After that is when I worked for a business that had offered interior design services. At that point I thought how fun. I got to work on some projects that needed a designer to go out into their home or business to come up with silk floral or plant designs to add the final element to their look. At this point the economy had turned. The place I had worked for was closing. 

I had felt going back to college for architecture and interior design was the best next step. There at Baker College I had pursued my degree graduating with Magna Cum Laude. Within the program, I also studied Kitchen and Bath Design becoming certified Summa Cum Laude through the NKBA. During that time I had won the National Kitchen and Bath Outstanding Student Award, sponsored by TOTO, featured in the Kitchen and Bath Design News, to recognize an elite group. I had studied the builders license and law as well.  

Since this time I have built my own home, among other custom projects for clients using all forms of design. Big and small, high end to affordable. Kitchen and baths to custom paint designs to decorating for an events held in private homes. 

The motivation for starting Designwaves LLC was my passion for creating and commitment to enhancing clients' well-being through thoughtful designs. This is a meaningful way for me to blend my artistic skills with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives. Creating beautiful spaces not only meets clients’ design needs but also contributes to their emotional and mental health—what a powerful combination!

In my spare time I love making anything beautiful. I love creating new ideas for my own home, painting, landscaping, and photography of nature. My entire life I have loved making things fresh, new, and beautiful. I feel your environment needs to be functional, comfortable, and pretty.  

What’s most important to me is my wonderful husband Ben, and my dog Chase. We love spending time at the coast, being outdoors in general doing anything from just enjoying a walk together to exploring on our stand up paddle boards. Chase is always there too. I have a high priority that family and friends comes first, which I feel brings me great joy and inspiration to work at my fullest.
